This is my absolute favorite photo from my first photo session on Sunday. "E" and his mom and dad were just brilliant. E has been through so so much in his short 6 years of life, more than I could ever imagine. He is autistic, and has a wide range of other issues he is constantly battling every day, along with the bravery and amazing love of his parents.   I have taken a lot of photos this past year. This one here...this photo...I am most proud of. I would really like to thank E and his parents for a wonderful time, and I cannot wait to show you the rest of your photos.

I haven't talked about faith at all this week. Its been in my thoughts. I was raised Methodist...but never discouraged from trying new things...I think my mom has always hoped that I believe in God. I do, but I think we have a semi dysfunctional relationship. Does that sound weird? I think it must. We talk often...our duologue is sometimes happy and sometimes sad, and sometimes unresponsive.

Faith comes in many forms. For me, I see faith in the family I have created with my darling, Michael. I see our girls growing and changing and coming into themselves....I have faith in my girls. I don't need them to go on to be ivy league overachievers or even got to college for that matter...my faith in them encompasses them being genuinely caring people, and having genuine compassion for others.

My best friend (or if you are Anne of Greene Gables, you would say bosom friend...yes that is dorky, but I love that book!) Heather came up today with her 2 little babes and she let me practice! I am going down to her house for a more official shoot this Sunday.

I have to say, this quote by C.S Lewis pretty much sums up how Heather and I met. We were both in college full time, working full time, and oh...yea...we were pregnant at the same time with our oldest girls. Due at the same time, unmarried and young, experiencing the same wonderful, and fun filled adventures that all woman go through together. We became best friends over the time we were pregnant...she was at the birth of both of my girls actually. I tell her I keep her around for comic relief, and while that IS true, its really because after 5+ years together, I cannot imagine a day going by without talking to her.

Miss Mikki "helping" me out with my new lens. Just got the 50mm 1.8 a few days ago...its a lot different than the 85mm, but I like it. I can get so much closer and it is really nice and sharp.
